October 14, 2007 Meeting Minutes

 

Call to Order – 9:45 AM by President Eric Callum

14 members present.

 

Minutes of last meeting read by Mark Wilson

            Motion to accept by Todd Callum, seconded by Glenn Baron, motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report by Mary Jeffrey

Savings Account  $8041; Checking Account $7274, CD for future Tucker maintenance, $2000. Expenses included lift motor and windshield for Skandic repair, excavation by Danny Thompson (1/2 reimbursed by GIA) and NHSA memberships. Motion to accept by Terry Callum Sr, seconded by Todd Callum, motion carried.

 

Communications

            Snowmobile swap meet, offer from company that makes starting line lights.

 

Committee Reports

 

Trail Report

 

Doug Jeffrey reported on trail work to widen and excavate the trail in the Church Road and Fisher Road area. Excellent turnout for the Oct 13 workbee. Doug also reported on the workbees several weeks ago to brush and widen Corridor 5 between the top of Walker Rd and Cold Pond Rd. Still have one section in there to be finished.

 

Todd reported that Terry has widened the Alvin Smith section and done some work around Crescent Lake Rd. Don reported that a logger has been working between his house and the 2nd NH Tpk, and some cleanup is needed.

 

Discussion of the next project, tentatively the Black North area, for Sat Oct 20. Trees need to be taken out, followed up by excavator work perhaps the following weekend.

 

Motion to purchase up to 250 gallons of diesel for the Tucker (storage in the tank at Tim Davis’s) by Terry Callum Sr, seconded by Don Mayberry, motion carried.

 

Motion to purchase another club chainsaw, approx 30 cc and 14 inch bar, up to $250, by Don Mayberry, seconded by Todd Callum, motion carried.

 

Motion to approve $250 for rental of a Kubota excavator for a weekend by Glenn Baron, seconded by Todd Callum, motion carried.

 

 

 

 

Fundraising

 

Eric Callum reported on the Harpoon Octoberfest event held Oct 6-7. On Saturday, the club provided 4 pourers and 5 parkers; on Sunday, 5 pourers and 7 parkers. Although our participation was down a bit and several people did not show up as promised, things went well and Harpoon was happy with our work. Eric estimated that the club will net about $1500 including tips.

 

Old Business

Some discussion of groomer repairs.

 

 

New Business

Todd reported on some discussion at the Sullivan County Meeting of the needs for clubs to look into their IRS status and filing requirements. Todd will have more information at the next meeting.
