February 10, 2008 Meeting Minutes

 

Call to Order – 9:40 AM by President Eric Callum

15 members present

            Motion to accept by Terry Callum, seconded by Tim Davis, motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report by Mary Jeffrey

Savings Account $9,450; Checking Account $3595, CD for future Tucker maintenance, $4071. Expenses incl. a diesel pump for Tucker fuel tank, Fish & Game permit and insurance for Radar Run, gas and oil for the Skandics. Received Grant in Aid money for final trail construction projects and December grooming. Motion to accept by Terry Callum, seconded by Rick Petrain, motion carried.

 

Communications

The Secretary reported that we now have 115 members/families for the season. NHSA trail maps are available. Correspondence received from the IRS acknowledging receipt of our 1024 tax exempt application.

 

Committee Reports

 

Trail Report

 

All of the club groomers were out on Friday and the trails were in great shape for the weekend. Doug and Jeff were out Sunday morning and more grooming was planned for the afternoon.

 

Doug sent a few items with Mary. Last weekend he saw an ice fisherman on Crescent Lake and they measured 17 inches of ice. The AFMI drag cylinder has been replaced, Tucker track tightened and fuel treatment added.

 

Terry Callum reported January grooming totals: 16.75 hours with the Tucker, 43.25 hours with the Skandics, total Grant in Aid reimbursement $1270.92. Some discussion of working up a schedule for the Tucker to hit all areas of the system leading up to the Radar Run.

 

Fundraising

 

Discussion of the annual Radar Run and Ride-In to be held Saturday, February 23. Several options for snow fence discussed. Todd will order 150 feet of fabric fence from a ski racing company in Vermont to try (about $200). Several people requested an event flyer to post. Mark will send. Signs going up this week.

 

 

Nominating Committee

 

Rick Petrain gave the Committee report and nominated the following slate of officers for 2008/2009. Elections will take place at the March meeting.

Old Business

Glenn Baron reported on signs for ATVs used for trail work that identify the vehicle as a club work vehicle and showed a design from the vendor. The quote is $50 each for metal signs and $30 each for corrugated plastic signs. Motion to order 10 of the plastic signs for $300 by Terry Callum, seconded by Elizabeth Willis, motion carried.

 

New Business

Terry Callum reported on a trip to Quebec and brought some trail maps.

 

Tim Davis reported that his son, Ben, has an opportunity to travel to Holland in July to swim in the 2008 International Youth Friendship Games. There is a spaghetti supper fundraiser Saturday, Feb 23, from 4-7 PM at the Unity Fire Station. This is right after the Radar Run, and everyone is invited to drive or ride there. Donation $7 per person. Motion for the club to match the proceeds from this fundraiser dollar for dollar by Terry Callum, seconded by Mike Foss, motion carried.

 

There will be a club ride to the Lake Sunapee Radar Run and Ride In next Saturday, Feb 16. Meet at 9 AM at the Crescent Lake Boat Landing.
