We got quite a bit of snow between Friday morning and Sunday night -- more than enough for riding. In some spots, there is so much snow that the travel on unbroken trails is difficult.

The usual suspects have been out working to open the trails. It's a slow process this year because many trees and limbs have fallen in the trail from the ice storm. The team will continue working to open the remaining areas, but as you ride please understand that the open trails represent many, many hours of cold, wet, tiring work by our dedicated volunteers.

Trails have been cleared and the Tucker has traveled and packed from Glenn Baron's house on Mica Mine Road, along P399 (Potato Hill/Crescent Lake/Gove Hill) to Larry Leclerc's, and then from Larry's across Rte 5 to Tim Davis's house.

P390 (Center Trail/Potato Hill) has been cleared, as has P387 (Bible Hill) to P390.

Anderson Road trail and the connector trail from the Crescent Lake boat ramp to P399/Gove Hill are also open.

There is one section of P399 alongside Gove Road that did not get cleared because of logging. Terry has spoken to the landowner and received permission to do what we need to open the trail, but there are logs and brush under the snow as well as a big new water bar cut across the trail.

There is still some water running in the woods, and some mud holes in the usual problem spots. There may be some additional cutting needed on the trails that have been cleared. As always, please ride carefully and watch for obstacles and remember that we are just getting started.
